This report examines why the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), despite unmatched central power and organisational scale, has failed to dislodge political dominance in West Bengal. Using a SWOT-based strategic lens, it identifies structural weaknesses in para-level authority, leadership continuity, and social embedding. The analysis concludes that electoral strength without localised social power cannot breach Bengal’s deeply rooted, community-driven political fortress.
