Kasba is a transitionary, mixed-settlement urban Vidhan Sabha constituency in South–East Kolkata, characterised by legacy middle-class paras, high-density apartment belts, minority pockets, and ongoing residential churn. Unlike structurally locked urban seats, Kasba exhibits medium volatility, where electoral outcomes are shaped by turnout differentials between older neighbourhoods and newer housing complexes.
